What was the problem?
Kunye Mining had developed a real time monitoring and automation solution for underground mine carts in a South African gold mine. Kunye asked InterDynamics to develop a job scheduling system based on a variety of mine inputs from current box levels, mine cart battery levels, cart consumable stockpiles (batteries) and maintenance schedules.
What did we do?
InterDynamics worked with Kunye mining to integrate the realtime monitoring solution into a discrete event simulation Planimate model. This model handled live input data from the various elements around the mine and monitored cart battery levels and maintenance schedules. Carts were allocated jobs based on availability, charge level and location within the mine.
